We are an established manufacturer and supplier of high-quality drainage products in a range of materials from cast iron, nickel bronze and stainless steel.
We are looking for a full-time design engineer/draughtsman to join our technical department, working alongside our drawing office supervisor and an existing design draughtsman.
The applicant will initially be responsible for producing approval and manufacturing drawings for our range drainage solutions; including the product development of existing and new products.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate the following.
Requirements
- Proven experience in the creation of 2D & 3D models using Autodesk; Inventor or similar.
- Practical knowledge and experience of a wide range of materials and production processes ranging from castings through to stainless steel fabrications.
- Knowledge and experience of working within an ISO9001:2015 quality system.
- Familiar in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel spread sheets.
- Experience of using and creating Bills of Materials (BOM’s) and Parts Lists.
- Engineering Change Notes and drawing issues.
- Working with a ERP/MRP system such as Microsoft Business Central or similar system.
- To work both independently and as part of a small team.
- Possible travel to other group companies, customers and suppliers.
- Support Production, Technical Sales, Sales and Customer Services departments.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification/s in mechanical or production engineering.
- City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, BTEC, F-Tech Cert, Degree.
Experience
- A mechanical engineering background.
- BS308 or BS8888 Engineering Drawing Standards
- Confident in working with a range of production personnel and skill levels.
- Support drawing office supervisor.
- Understanding of both Manual and CNC machining processes.
- Welding techniques and assembly.
- Production jigs and fixtures.
