Maintenance Engineer

What are we doing? 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a market leader, a world-famous automotive manufacturing company based in the Heart of England. They are ramping up production of our advanced air suspension systems in support new a EV-Vehicle platform and we are expanding our production team rapidly. 


Main purpose of the job: 

As part of the Maintenance team, you will be responsible for carrying out necessary repairs to equipment, optimise performance, reduce down time and work within the preventative maintenance and stock control strategies.  

  • Your main responsibilities will include: 
  • Reacting immediately to break downs with minimum delays 
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment 
  • Analysis of breakdown causes and instigation of repair and corrective actions 
  • Recommend and implement actions to prevent future re-occurrence 
  • Taking a pro-active approach to: 
  • monitoring plant equipment 
  • reducing unplanned machine down times 
  • Improving efficiencies 
  • The use of measuring instrumentation and calibration activities 
  • Modifications and improvements to equipment 
  • Identification and sourcing of alternative parts 
  • Completion of all supporting documentation in a timely manner 


Our client is looking for someone who: 

  • Is a Time Served Multi-skilled Engineering Apprentice with relevant working experience? 
  • Has an electrical working bias (essential) 
  • Has demonstrable electronics working experience (circuit board fabrication, diagnosis and repair) or an Electronics qualification (essential) 
  • Can use measurement and diagnostic instrumentation (essential) 
  • Diagnostic experience of automated and PLC controlled machines (essential) 
  • Has a clear understanding of manufacturing processes 
  • Can optimise performance
