We are seeking an experienced Technical Department Manager to support a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier based in Coburg, Germany. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and efficiency of production equipment and technical facilities, supporting continuous operations, quality standards, and safety compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead maintenance and repair activities for machinery, tools, and equipment, including the introduction of new tools.
- Develop and manage systems for equipment start-up, shutdown, troubleshooting, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Monitor production performance, identify high-scrap areas, and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Advise on outsourcing maintenance services when required and coordinate equipment purchases with headquarters.
- Supervise maintenance of utilities (electricity, heat, gas, air) to ensure continuous supply for operations.
- Prepare and review maintenance reports, performance statistics, and budget information.
- Collaborate with management, technicians, and quality teams to resolve maintenance issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with IATF16949, TS16949, ISO14001, and relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Support energy management initiatives and oversee building maintenance.
- Provide engineering and technical support to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Experience/Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or equivalent technical qualification.
- 3–5 years’ leadership experience in maintenance or engineering management
- Knowledge of TS16949, ISO14001, and preferably ISO 50001.
- Strong skills in MS Office, report preparation, and ERP systems (advantage).
- Fluent in German; good English skills (written and spoken).
