Interim Quality Engineer
Location: Plzeň, Czech Republic (On-site)
Contract: Interim (2–3 Months, with potential to extend)
Start Date: Immediate
We’re looking for an experienced Interim Quality Engineer to support a major automotive manufacturing programme during a critical project phase.
This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive quality professional who can work closely with Production, Engineering, Suppliers and Customers to resolve quality issues, support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure successful programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supplier quality and plant quality incidents, ensuring timely investigation, resolution and corrective actions.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and APQP activities through to successful production launch.
- Lead structured Root Cause Analysis activities using methodologies including 8D, 5 Why and other problem-solving techniques.
- Prepare, review and maintain quality documentation including PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Suppliers and Customers to identify issues and drive quality improvements.
- Support containment activities, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement actions to enhance manufacturing performance.
- Provide customer-facing quality support throughout project delivery and product launch activities.
- Support the implementation of robust quality processes to achieve successful production outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Quality Engineer within an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and GD&T.
- Experience managing supplier quality issues and manufacturing plant quality incidents.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience using 8D, 5 Why and Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems.
- Experience working closely with production teams, suppliers and customers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in Czech or Slovak and English (written and spoken).
- Available to start immediately.
Desirable
- Experience supporting automotive customer programmes and OEM requirements.
- Previous involvement in New Product Introduction (NPI), APQP launches or production ramp-up activities.
- Experience working within fast-paced automotive manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of supplier development and continuous improvement methodologies.
