Commodity Leader/Manager – Metallic Components (Czech Speaker)

We’re looking for an experienced Commodity Leader/Manager to join our client’s global purchasing team, focusing on the strategic sourcing and supplier management of metallic components including machined parts, castings, forgings, stampings and fabricated assemblies.

Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, drive cost optimisation initiatives, manage supplier performance, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality components across a global manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic sourcing and procurement of metallic components across multiple commodity groups.
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage supplier selection, RFQs, commercial negotiations and contract agreements.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments, audits and qualification activities.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure supplier readiness.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality, Operations and Supply Chain teams to resolve technical and commercial issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, scorecards and regular business reviews.
  • Develop dual sourcing and supply continuity strategies to minimise supply chain risk.
  • Analyse market trends, raw material pricing and industry developments to support strategic sourcing decisions.
  • Provide regular updates to global stakeholders on sourcing projects, supplier performance and risk mitigation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic purchasing, commodity management or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience sourcing metallic components within a global supply base.
  • Strong technical knowledge of metallic manufacturing processes, including castings, forgings, stampings, fabrications, welded assemblies, sheet metal components and surface treatments.
  • Demonstrable experience in supplier relationship management, supplier audits and capability assessments.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience in cost analysis, should-cost modelling and value engineering.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working within an international manufacturing environment.
  • Fluency in both Czech and English (written and spoken) is essential.
