Quality Manager

Working for an industry leader with huge expertise in sophisticated thermoplastic parts manufacturing to advance the possibilities of lightweight automotive parts design for the global vehicle industry.

Job Overview:

The Quality Manager will be a member of the management team and responsible for ensuring all quality aspects in the company.

Responsibilities:

Quality Management Leadership:

  • Assume overall responsibility for the quality department, providing disciplinary and technical guidance to assigned employees, fostering their professional development.
  • Spearhead quality planning initiatives, conduct quality testing, and drive continuous improvement of existing testing procedures for quality and processes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute all internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports, action plans, and final reports for review and implementation.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure adherence to all aspects of IATF 16949 certification requirements within the quality management system.
  • Create and maintain documentation in accordance with specified standards, Client procedures, customer-specific specifications, and development guidelines.
  • Coordinate measures and activities to enhance the QM system, overseeing effective implementation.

Quality Assurance and Improvement:

  • Support pre-series phase activities, conduct weak point analyses, and prepare status reports on quality-relevant aspects.
  • Moderate and implement quality circles and CIP projects to drive process optimization.
  • Develop comprehensive test instructions, including documentation of the entire test process.

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS):

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for ensuring compliance with company obligations for occupational health, environmental protection, and Client guidelines within the area of responsibility.

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:

  • Completed technical studies or vocational training with additional specialized qualifications.
  • Proven experience in the automotive industry is highly desirable, including knowledge of automotive standards such as IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements of OEMs.
  • Proficient in essential quality management (QM) systems and tools.
  • Auditor certification (e.g., VDA, IATF 16949, DIN EN ISO 9001) is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in applying suitable methods to achieve sustainable quality assurance.
  • Willingness to travel, primarily within Europe.
  • Prior management experience is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of critical QM systems and tools.

Preferred Knowledge and Background:

  • Plastic injection molding processes.
  • Automotive industry experience.

Language Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of German spelling and grammar rules.
  • Proficient in English for effective oral and written communication with customers, suppliers, and Client employees.

Computer Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.

  • Coordination with the quality department at the HQ and other company plants.
