The Challenge
- Customer made strategic decision to close its manufacturing plant in Romania and relocate the production of those products to plants in Czech, Poland, Italy, Turkey, Morocco.
- Quantity of part numbers, T1 customer locations and OEM brands involved with the need to deliver the transition in short timing drove significant complexity that required additional execution resources to support the project.
- The nature of the work included coordination and communication with all 71 Tier 1 customer locations, sharing transfer timing, part numbers, samples , PPAP submissions and delivering new purchase orders to support the changeover in the new Sage manufacturing plants.
The Solution
- Jigsaw provided a Program management resource team integrated as part of the Sage team to lead all T1 communications and support the various OEM brand approval meetings.
- Using the planning and execution skills from our Consultancy business we were able to efficiently manage and track status of the part numbers with each T1 and lead all T1 project status reviews and support sage internal reviews.
- Provided Sage leadership with monthly progress reports across the entire project and highlighted potential risks and opportunities with the various customers.

Key Achievements
- Overall scope included coordination of 532 part numbers across 71 Tier 1 customer locations (globally) involving 19 different OEM brands.
- 110 part numbers were confirmed through process as stock build until EOP from the current manufacturing plant.
- Of 422 part numbers to transfer to new manufacturing plants, 401 were transferred with T1 agreement and new PO in place (95%) at the handover date.
- Remaining 21 PO’s and transfers were taken over by the internal Sage team to manage.
